When we started our company in 1997, we believed in the success of giving and sharing. From that belief, we have built our organization ever since.

Rhineland because entrepreneurship is about creation where the environment takes precedence. And family business because it provides continuity and stability, focusing not only on the financial return of the enterprise.



Our History
Founders of Wiertz Company
Founded in 1997
Wiertz Company was founded in 1997 by Harm Wiertz and Dionne Wiertz-Buck. Both were working for a large international publicly traded staffing organization at the time. Harm started there in 1985 and has now been active in employment mediation for almost 40 years. Dionne began in 1996 after completing her degree in Public Relations and Communication in Tilburg. They fell in love, quickly started a relationship... and believed that employment mediation could be done differently, better. That service should come first, not the stock market, revenue, or profit.
It should be about finding a job that truly fits someone and finding employees who truly fit a company.
These were the motives to start Wiertz Company on April 30, 1997. The first office was located on Oranjestraat in Kerkrade. The opening was on Queen's Day. The choice of orange as the company's color was obvious: a color that stands out and represents fun, humor, and optimism.
Clients and job seekers began to arrive. It was busy. Dionne and Harm couldn't handle it alone anymore and expanded. Consultants were hired. Wiertz Company was firmly established. More and more clients and employers outside Kerkrade started using their services. Therefore, Dionne and Harm decided to build a branch organization. Heerlen was opened, then Maastricht, and slowly all of Limburg turned orange.

Once the borders of Limburg were reached, the realization grew that Wiertz Company could expand beyond Limburg. Job seekers and employers deserved it. But also because the continuity of the company requires a solid foundation and volume.
Continuity and foundation have led to fundamental choices over the past years. A solid foundation is the basis for balanced growth. For this reason, we professionalized our governance in 2017. With the governance triangle and separate roles for shareholder-supervisor-management. And to ensure the continuity of the family business for the next generation, founders Dionne and Harm transferred 90% of their shares in Wiertz Company to their children Niklas, Martijn, and Willeke.
Since its inception in 1997, Wiertz Company has grown into a leading family business in the field of people and work throughout the Netherlands. The work area has expanded further after the acquisition of the family business de Pooter. With activities in Germany, Poland, and the rest of Europe, the international ambition is being realized.
Together with a team of 120 professionals and within professional governance, the family business is gradually moving stones in the river of the labor market.

As a family business with a long-term strategy, we value professional governance. Within Wiertz Family, we hold 100% of the shares of Wiertz Company. This means that within Wiertz Family we fulfil our role as shareholder, organise supervision and are remotely available for advice and action.
