In “The face behind…”, we show the people behind Wiertz Company. The colleagues who dedicate themselves every day to candidates, clients and one another. Each with their own story, their own energy and their own way of working.

This edition is slightly different from the previous ones, as we are taking a look beyond the Dutch Hubs. In episode 11, we meet Katarzyna Lachowicz, Area & Recruitment Manager of Hub Wrocław in Poland. Positive, solution-oriented and driven by teamwork, Katarzyna plays an important role in connecting people across borders. Time to get to know her better.

Question 1: What is the first thing you do when your working day begins?
Our day always starts with coffee, a joke and a horoscope! Everyone in my team is unique, and they love starting the day with a bit of humour. We always start on a positive note. From there, we discuss our plans for the day, set priorities and divide the tasks.

Question 2: What makes your work at Wiertz Company enjoyable or valuable?
Above all, teamwork. We work together, support each other and take action. No one is ever left without help, and we ensure an equal workload across the team. I love the variety; working in an international and different environment with people from all over Europe keeps me very positive and motivated.

Question 3: What do colleagues usually say about you?
That I am always positive and that I have a million ways to solve any issue. I don’t see problems, only challenges, and I believe there is always a solution if you approach it the right way. There is no such thing as a dead-end situation; you just need to find the right door. They say I’m contagious with my optimism and that I’m always smiling.

Question 4: What gives you energy in your work?
I draw energy from good relationships with candidates, clients and colleagues. I know that there is a perfect match for every person and the right candidate for every client if we focus on support, cooperation, respect and understanding. A quick brainstorm, finding a solution together or celebrating even the smallest success: these are the moments that give me strength.

Question 5: What do you think someone needs to have to fit in well at Wiertz Company?
Passion, a flexible mindset and an open mind. You need to enjoy working with people and be ready for challenges. Honesty, openness and an understanding of our family-business values are key. We must always remember that we are working together towards our common success.

Question 6: Where might we run into you outside working hours?
Usually with my husband and children, as family is my priority. Cycling trips, board games and playing together are what recharge me. You might also run into me at the university, where I’m currently studying law.

Question 7: What question, or what topic, can colleagues always come to you with?
Absolutely anything. I believe that honesty and openness are the foundations of collaboration. Brainstorming and discussing a topic together always gives us a broader perspective. We should share our experience and challenges, and if it’s a success, let’s celebrate it together!

Bonus question: What might many people not know about you yet?
I write short stories, I’m studying law, and in my younger years I used to ride a motorcycle. To this day, I love heavy music and my leather biker jacket. I also love spending time actively, especially hiking in the mountains. 😊

What characterises Katarzyna is her positive energy and her ability to keep looking for possibilities, even when situations become challenging. She believes in openness, teamwork and finding the right way forward together.

With that mindset, she helps build strong connections from Hub Wrocław, not only within her own team, but also across countries, candidates, clients and colleagues. A true example of how the people behind Wiertz Company make the difference every day.
